The WSCC collects personal information to administer programs and services related to your claim. For more information please read our Privacy Statement for Workers.

Working safely is everybody’s job, and every worker has the right to a safe workplace. Understanding the rights and responsibilities of every worker is a foundational part of workplace safety training.

3 Worker Rights

Before starting work, everyone should understand their three fundamental rights.

The Workers' Advisor Office (WAO) helps workers understand the workers' compensation system. The WAO is independent of the WSCC, and provides a confidential outside-opinion.

If you disagree with the Review Committee's decision, a second and final level of appeal is available through the Appeals Tribunal, a third party organization not affiliated with WSCC.

To appeal a Review Committee decision, complete an Appeals Application Form and send it to the Appeals Tribunal Registrar:

If there is a decision on your claim that you do not agree with, you should first talk to the person who made the decision. It is possible that information may have been missed. Some disagreements can be settled in this stage.

If you still disagree with the decision, there are two levels of appeal available to you.

If we deny your claim and you disagree with our decision, you can request a review of this decision. Learn more about the review process.
