Some work injuries result in a permanent loss of function to areas of the body affected by an injury. This loss of function may continue even after complete and appropriate medical treatment. This is called a permanent medical impairment (PMI).

Today, the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) welcomes the appointment of Maia Lepage as the new Worker’s Advisor for the Northwest Territories & Nunavut.

Appointed by the Northwest Territories Minister Responsible for the WSCC, the Honourable Alfred Moses, Ms. Lepage begins her three-year term as an advocate for injured workers.

The Workers’ Advisor acts independently and impartially from the WSCC, providing a range of supports and assistance to injured workers and their family members, for example:
