Yellowknife, NT (May 23, 2017) – On May 10, 2017, the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission filed nine charges in the Northwest Territories’ Territorial Court under the Northwest Territories’ Safety Act.

When injured, a worker depends on a number of individuals to communicate with each other throughout the claims process. As a health care provider, you play a critical role by recognizing medical problems, making accurate diagnoses, creating effective treatment plans for injured workers, and communicating with the WSCC.

Report if a worker:

  • needed medical aid;
  • cannot return to work the day that the injury occurred;
  • is unable to return to their job after the day of the injury;
  • loses consciousness; or
  • were exposed to a dangerous substance; or
  • is critically injured.

(If any ONE of these instances apply.)
