Ensuring your business has a safety program is taking care of your business. The Occupational Health and Safety Program Guide for Small Businesses will step you through the process to build and maintain a program that protects your workers' well-being and your business.

No matter how small your business is or the type of work you do, you must provide and maintain a safe workplace.

With a written OHS Program, you create an action plan for how you:

All businesses, no matter the size, need to maintain a safe workplace and operate according to the Safety Act and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulations.

That includes:

  • Developing and implementing safe work procedures, and
  • Training and supervising workers.

Your workers need to know what to do in an emergency, and you need to make sure you have plans and procedures in place that will ensure they stay safe.
