Media Release: WSCC Enhances Employer Services to Support Northern Businesses

Yellowknife, NT / Iqaluit, NU (October 01, 2026) – The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) is introducing a dedicated Employer Support team to improve service delivery for businesses across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

The team will provide employers with a single point of contact and offer immediate assistance with general questions and account management, such as navigating online services on WSCC Connect, business registration, obtaining a clearance and submitting payroll.

Key Features of the New Support Team:

  • WSCC Connect Support: Step-by-step assistance with setting up accounts, obtaining a clearance, filing online injury and incident reports, checking Safe Workplace status and viewing claims experience with WSCC’s online services.
  • One-Call Access: Speak directly with a dedicated local team member to quickly resolve general inquiries, routine account management, and payroll reporting in one conversation.
  • Setup Support: Tailored support for business owners registering and learning how to navigate workers' compensation requirements.
  • Safety & Prevention Resources: Direct referral to Safety Outreach or Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) specialists to assist employers with workplace safety compliance and safety program development.

Employers can contact the Employer Support team Mon to Fri, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM MT/EDT.

WSCC continues to maintain a full range of service options. Reception services at both the Yellowknife and Iqaluit offices remain available to respond to in-person requests and phone inquiries for workers, claimants, healthcare providers, and the general public.
