Yellowknife, NT (April 26, 2019) – The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) today announced that as of May 3, 2019 Dave Grundy, will be stepping down as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Appointed by the WSCC’s Governance Council, Dave assumed the duties of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on July 25, 2011. Dave joined the WSCC in 2002, following a 30-year career in the RCMP.
Speaking on behalf of WSCC’s Governance Council, Chairperson Dave Tucker said, “Dave has shown extraordinary leadership, positivity and service to the WSCC over the last 16 years. I know I’m not alone in thanking Dave and recognizing his many contributions, including embodying our organizational values of respect, integrity and openness and providing a strong foundation for future growth”.
Grundy said, “My decision to step down was not an easy one but the timing is right for the organization, for me, and for my family. The people I’ve worked with over the years at the WSCC will always be an inspiration to me. I’m grateful and honored to have these memories and very proud of the progress we’ve made towards creating and maintaining safe workplaces in the North.”
Kim Collins-Riffel will be the interim CEO while the recruitment process is being undertaken. The WSCC will continue to execute its previously announced strategic initiatives as contained in the 2018-2022 Strategic Plan.
