The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) has changed. The new nationally recognized standard incorporates the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).

Effective February 11, the new system, dubbed WHMIS 2015, now includes harmonized criteria for hazard classification and requirements for hazard communications through labels and safety data sheets. WHMIS 2015 is based on new requirements contained within the Hazardous Products Regulations and Hazardous Products Act.

Workplace bullying is a common occurrence in offices and worksites throughout Canada. Often considered rare, bullying among adults is sometimes ignored. Yet the numbers show bullying in the workplace is a problem.

On February 4, 2015, the Regional Boiler/Gas Inspector of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) conducted an annual inspection of pressure vessels at a mine process plant. The inspection revealed signs of corrosion between metal identification tags and the pressure vessel walls on a number of air receivers.
