Yellowknife, NT (April 20, 2022) – The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) is seeking input as it works to improve access to workplace safety training and certification.

Under workplace safety legislation, all employers are responsible for providing the education and training workers need to do their job safely.

Safety and Health Week is celebrated annually in North America during the first week of May highlighting the importance of preventing workplace incidents, injuries, and illness.

The WSCC’s focus for Safety and Health Week 2025 is on strengthening safety planning for your workplace, and we’re celebrating by launching our NEW Workplace Safety Planning Guide – a practical resource for northern employers
