Temporary employers do not need to register. To determine if you are considered a temporary employer:
Read the following list of statements. If you do not answer ‘Yes’ to all five (5) statements, you have to register with the WSCC as an employer:
- The employer’s primary location is outside the NT and/or NU;
- Residents of the NT and/or NU are not employed by the organization;
- Employees working for the organization usually work outside of the NT and/or NU;
- The employer’s NT and/or NU based business operations do not exceed 10 days per year;
- The employer has workers’ compensation coverage or other similar coverage under another jurisdiction that extends to their activities in NT and/or NU.
