Yellowknife, NT (January 25, 2016) – Today, the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) announce the release of Safety Share, a new online safety forum for employers operating in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
In support of the WSCC’s strategic priority of Advancing the Safety Culture, and following engagement with our Stakeholder Engagement Committee (SEC) and associations across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, the WSCC is proud to launch Safety Share. Safety Share is an online forum for employers to share important safety information among themselves, to ask each other questions, and to collaborate. It is a go-to place for employers to support each other and gain easy access to important safety information.
“Safety Share is an excellent tool to help employers advance the Northern safety culture. It is a fun and easy to use online forum that helps employers reach out to each other,” says Dave Grundy, WSCC President & CEO. “The Northwest Territories and Nunavut are vast and varied. This tool will help bring employers a little bit closer together. It will help connect people across industries and communities so they can share important safety information and resources with each other. We are excited to see the impact it will have.”
The forum, which supports dialogue in both English and French, groups discussions into six categories to help employers easily identify the topics that interest them. The categories are: Important Safety Notices, Safety Resources, Practices Worth Sharing, Looking for Assistance, In the News, and General Discussion.
Safety Share is accessible through the WSCC website (wscc.nt.ca or wscc.nu.ca), or at www.safetyshare.wscc.nt.ca.
