Welcome to WSCC’s Young Workers Program
In our mission to promote workplace health and safety, the WSCC has designed this program to educate youth, new workers, and apprentices on the fundamentals of workplace safety and workers’ rights. Our aim is to best prepare young workers before they enter the workforce. Along with an emphasis on the importance of the Internal Responsibility System (IRS), the WSCC wants students to understand the three rights of all workers: the Right to Participate, the Right to Know, and the Right to Refuse. This program is designed to help students understand what they need to know about safe work practices, but more importantly, to empower them to ask constructive questions when they join the workforce.
